The men's lacrosse team scored the first goal of the game and never looked back en route to a 27-14 win over Hudson Valley CC Friday night at Binghamton's Alumni Stadium. Harrison Gardiner (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) won the second face off of the game and scored on a bounce shot past the Hudson Valley goalie to get the scoring started for the Hornets. Gardiner would score 3 of his 5 goals in the first quarter as Broome sped out to a 7-1 lead. Gardiner would also finish 19 of 29 on face offs. Attackman Michael Doll (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) finished with a game high 6 goals and 4 assists. Midfielder Michael Ferranti (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) added to his overall team high point totals (14g 9a) with 6 goals 3 assists on the evening. Attackman Ryan Corey (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) had a career high 5 goals 2 assists. Nine of the Hornets players recorded at least 2 points on the day including a defenseman Corey Della Stua (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) with 1 goal and an 1 assist.
Broome will host Mohawk Valley CC Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Binghamton Alumni Stadium.
