Baseball Falls On Road

The baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Niagara County CC  in Sanborn, NY Sunday afternoon 4-3 in game one and 10-0 in game two. 

In game one the Hornets mounted a strong comeback rallying for three runs in the fifth inning to tie the game at three a piece. Colin Arvanitakis (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) drove in Joseph Hamdan (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City)for the first run while Matt DePalmo (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) scored on an error by the center fielder. Henry Pellicciotti (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game. Erick Wortman (Vestal, NY/Vestal) threw five and a third solid innings allowing only three earned runs in the loss. Game two found the Hornets lacking for offense, picking up only lone singles from Thaylor Aguilera (Caracas, Venezuela/UEN Mariano Picon Salas) and DePalmo in the loss.

SUNY Broome is now 0-4 overall and 0-4 in Region 3. The Hornets next game is Tuesday,  April 14th at 2:00 p.m. vs. Tompkins Cortland CC at Hornet Field.
