Baseball Takes Game One
The SUNY Broome Hornets split a doubleheader with Jamestown CC at Hornet Field today. The Hornets won the first game 9-2  and lost the second game 6-5.
In game one, the Hornets scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to take a 4-1 lead and never looked back. Matt DePalmo tripled to right center with one out then scored on an infield error. Rachid Martie advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a Henry Pellicciotti single. Pellicciotti stole second and scored on a double by Troy Scales. Scales scored on a single by Joseph Hamdan. Hamdan went 4-4 with 3 singles and a double. Other multi-hit players were Pellicciotti (3-3), Martie (2-4) and Colin Arvanitakis (2-3). Chris Ellerson scattered 7 hits in the complete game victory, his second win. Chris struck out 6 while walking 1. 
In game two, the Hornets fell behind 6-0 before rallying with 4 runs in the 6th highlighted by a Adam Kettle double, which plated 2 Hornets. The Hornets tacked on another run in the 7th before the rally fell short. Pellicciotti, DePalmo and Scales led the Hornet hitting attack with 2 hits each. 
Broome's record is now 2-14 overall and 2-14 in Region III. Broome's next game is Sunday, April 26th at 1:00 p.m. against Jamestown CC at Diethrick Park in Jamestown, NY.
