Hornets Split Doubleheader

The SUNY Broome Hornets split a doubleheader with Finger Lakes Community College at Hornet Field on Saturday. The Hornets were beaten in  the first game 11-5 and came back to win the second game 4-2.

Game one saw both teams hitting the ball all over the field. The Hornets fell behind 9-1 in the fifth inning before scoring three runs in the inning. Matt DePalmo led off the inning with a triple and was driven in by Henry Pellicciotti. Thaylor Aguilera and Adam Kettle each drove in a run in the inning as well. Game two found much less offense on the scoreboard. The Hornets jumped out to an 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Scales and bases loaded walk to Joe Klenchik. Erick Wortman went the distance for the Hornets, allowing just four hits and two earned runs in the game. Lourens and Pellicciotti added multi-hit games for the Hornets once again.
