Baseball Drops Two At Home

The baseball team fell at home to Tompkins Cortland CC on Thursday, 5-0 in the first game and 14-4 in the second. Richard Mastroianni allowed just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his two innings of work in game one. Matthew Bowman took the loss, he lasted five innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed five runs.

In game two, Cameron Gregory racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Hornets on a bases loaded homer in the third inning. Christopher Sweeney took the loss for the Broome, he allowed 11 runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out five. The game was never in doubt after the second, as the Panthers scored four runs and added four more in the third. A four-run third inning helped bring the Hornets within four, highlighted by a home run by Gregory but that was as close as the game would get.
