Comeback Dooms Hornets

The Hornets couldn't recover from a comeback by Genesee CC on Saturday in game one, losing 6-5 and lost game two of the doubleheader 4-2 at Hornet Field. In game one, Broome led by three runs in the sixth inning, but Genesee put together a furious comeback to steal the victory, 6-5. Matthew Bowman went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Hornets. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the second and seventh innings. Christopher Puzakulics couldn't get it done on the mound, he lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Dylan Barton pitched seven innings, but Broome still fell to Genesee 4-2. The game was never in doubt after the second, as Genesee scored three runs on a two-run home run and a single. The Hornets scored one run in the second inning, and then followed it up with one more in the third to come within one but that's as close as it would get.
