SUNY Broome and Corning CC played a taut affair on Thursday, but the Hornets eventually prevailed 7-4 after taking the lead for good in the third inning when Alex Kocan broke the 4-4 tie with a single to drive in the go ahead run. Richie Bittles earned the win for Broome, he pitched seven innings, giving up four runs, eight hits, and striking out four.
In game two Matthew Bowman pitched a no-hitter for the 1-0 win. Bowman pitched eight innings, allowing zero runs, zero hits, and striking out seven. Kyle Balmer went 2-4 from the plate to lead Broome in hits.
Broome will host Niagara CC this Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Hornet Field.
