Men's Basketball Cruises To Home Win

The men's basketball team cruised by visiting Schenectady County CC 90-63 in their home opener Saturday afternoon in a Region III contest. Broome continued their strong start to the season by jumping out to a big 30-9 lead. Strong defensive stops turned into offensive opportunities which led to a 45-18 halftime lead. The Royals cut the lead to 16 early in the second half, 53-37, but the Hornets did not waiver and the lead grew to as much as 32 at 89-57. Broome was led by Shameek Brown (Brooklyn, NY/Boys & Girls), who showed an exciting ability to finish above the rim. Brown closed with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Also in double figures were Dashown Nelson (Brooklyn, NY/HS of Telecommunication Arts & Technology) with 13 points on 4 for 8 shooting from 3 and James Saunders (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) with 12 points and a team high 8 boards.

The Hornets return back home again tomorrow for a 3:00 P.M. tip-off against Fulton-Montgomery CC.
