The men's basketball team lost their conference opener at home 87-71 to Finger Lakes CC in the Baldwin Gym on Thursday night. The Hornets held a 47-43 halftime lead before the Lakers rallied in the second half behind a 30 point performance by Kievonn Banks and 26 points from Torry Wright.

Broome was led by Chris Smith with 17 points and James Saunders added 15 points.

The Hornets will host Tompkins Cortland CC this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
