Men Topple MSAC Leader

The SUNY Broome men's basketball team won on the road Wednesday night against the top team in the MSAC 74-69.  The win snapped Finger Lakes CC eleven-game win streak.

The Lakers went up early 11-0 and got their biggest lead of the night (14) in the first seven minutes of play. Broome came back late in the first half and went to the break down just 4 points, 39-35.  

The Hornets came out strong to start the second half and take the lead early on. The lead changed hands back and forth but Broome would close out on top.

James Saunders led the way for Broome with 19 points on 9-10 shooting. Chris Smith added 17 points and 8 rebounds, Dashown Nelson scored 16 points and pulled 9 boards and William Mason added 7 points, 11 boards and 2 key blocks.

The Hornets have another road MSAC contest on Saturday in Dryden at Tompkins Cortland CC scheduled to tip at 3:00 p.m.
