Men's Basketball Drop Road Game

Men's Basketball Drop Road Game

Men's basketball dropped their first road game of the weekend on Saturday afternoon, 90-70 at North Country CC in Saranac Lake. The Hornets came out flat and found themselves in a double digit hole after 9 minutes of play. Over the next 11 minutes they would step their defense up and claw back to take the lead into halftime 38-35.

The lead did not last long as The Saints would open the second half with two quick scores to take the lead back and they would not trail again for the rest of the game. It was the same story that put Broome in a whole to start the game, that is losing the rebounding battle and giving up second chance baskets. North Country dominated the glass 42-26. The lead would grow as large as 22 points midway through the second half. Broome would show some fight to cut the lead to 10 led by Sean Webb and his 12 second half points, but that is as close as it would get.

Webb finished with 20 points on the afternoon to pace four Hornets in double figures. He would add a team high 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Also in double figures were Adolphus Butts with 15 points and 3 assists, Lucas Iacobucci scored 12 points and Anthony McNeil contributed 10 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
