Broome men's basketball traveled to Hudson Valley CC on Sunday for a Region III matchup and lost 96-83 in OT.

The game was closesly contested from the jump, as the first 10 minutes contained a number of lead changes and ties. At the 10:25 mark the Vikings held a one point lead, 17-16. Over the next three minutes, Broome would make a 13-3 run, sparked by a Lucas Iacobucci 3-pointer. Just two minutes later, the Hornets held their biggest lead 34-24, with Sean Webb and Anthony McNeil continuing to put pressure on the defense and get to the foul line. Broome took a 41-36 lead into the half led by Webbs' 15 points.

Hudson Valley opened the second half with an 11-4 run to take back the lead 47-45, in the first 4 minutes. The biggest lead in the half for either team would be 5 points. With six minutes remaining, and the Vikings up 68-63, Broome would start their comeback with a 11-5 run to take a one point lead 74-73 with 36 seconds to go. Two Webb free throws gave the Hornets a 76-73 lead with thirteen seconds. On the next possession,  Broome would force the Vikings into a contested 3-point shot, that took a long bounce off the rim. An offensive rebound and a quick pass out to the 3-point line led to a fall-away three that splashed through the net as time expired to tie the game at 76 all.

In overtime, Hudson Valley would outscore the Hornets 20-7 to take the victory, 96-83. Webb led all scorers with 32 points, on 11-14 free throws, accompanied by 6 assists. Iacobucci would finish with 19 points. McNeil added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Rahiem Grant would also finish in double figures with 11, to go along with 7 boards. Adolphus Butts contributed 6 points, and 4 steals.

Broome is back at home on Wednesday to take on Finger Lakes CC in a MSAC contest scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
