Broome Splits Home-Stand Over The Weekend

The men's basketball team held on to defeat Jefferson 76-70 on Saturday and fell to Hudson Valley 70-65 on Sunday.  Some big numbers put up by Hornets players against Jefferson, helped lead them to their first MSAC victory.  Rahiem Grant led the way in scoring and rebounding with 24 points and 15 boards, 7 of which came on the offensive end. Also logging in a double-double was Tron Smith, Jr., who contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds of his own, in addition to 4 assists and 3 steals. Reginald Vaughan posted double digit scoring numbers as well with 19 to go with his game high 6 assists.

In Sunday's Region III loss to the Vikings, the Hornets witnessed another all around performance by Smith, who led all scorers with 24 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 5 assists and added 3 steals to his line. Other double figure scorers were Lucas Iacobucci with 14 points, Vaughan with 13 points and 3 assists, and Grant with 10 points and 7 boards.
 
The Hornets are on the road for their next contest this Wednesday against MSAC opponent Finger Lakes CC, tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 P.M.
