The Hornets ran out of steam in the second half on Sunday afternoon, falling to Hudson Valley CC, 94-65 in a non-conference matchup in Troy.  Broome trailed by ten at the end of the first half but that halftime deficit slowly grew larger as the time ticked away.  Broome held a lead for a good portion of the first half but the Vikings depth, and the Hornets lack thereof, began to make a difference.  Despite Broome's efforts to slow down the game Hudson Valley took every opportunity to push the tempo, and eventually the Hornets equipped with only one reserve player for the day, could not sustain.

Broome's scoring effort was led by Quartus Steika, with 18 points. He also added 4 blocks.  Reginald Vaughan put in 15 points, despite seeing constant double teams.  Patrick Buchinsky, giving up 6 inches to his counterpart most of the afternoon, battled for a big double-double with 13 points and a game high 16 boards.  Kevin Crossgrove contributed across the board with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, and Brendan Lewis put in a collegiate high 9 points with 5 rebounds.

Broome will resume MSAC play on Wednesday when Finger Lakes CC comes to visit the Bladwin Gymnasium, scheduled to tip at 8:00 P.M.
