Hornets Struggles Continue

Hornets running an offensive set
vs Finger Lakes

The Hornets continued to struggle from the field, falling to Finger Lakes CC on Wednesday night, 101-47, in a MSAC Contest played at home.  Broome only managed to make five baskets in the first half, as it seemed like shot after shot went halfway down before it popped out. Many of those missed baskets led to fast break advantages for the Lakers and they converted on those opportunities.  The first half ended 50-12, with the Hornets in an insurmountable hole. Broome shot better in the second half but the Lakers offense kept rolling, with another 50 point half.

Quartus Steika led Broome scoring with 13 points, 12 of those points coming in the second half, he also added 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.  Zakariyya Williams, playing in his first game since December, also scored in double figures with 10 points, and Patrick Buchinsky contributed another double digit rebounding effort with 10 boards to go with his 4 points.  Devin Green led five Lakers in double figures with 25 points.

The Hornets will be back in action at home on Friday night when they face MSAC opponent Tompkins Cortland CC at 8:00 P.M. in the Baldwin Gymnasium.
