3-Pointers Not Enough

Broome player going up for a layup
vs Corning
Broome hit twelve 3-pointers on Wednesday night in the Baldwin Gymnasium but it wasn't enough as Corning CC defeated the hosts, 96-76.  The Hornets battled the Red Barons for most of the night, except for a couple of stretches where the visitors size really took it's toll, giving Corning the MSAC victory.

Although Broome outshot Corning from 3-point line on the night, the Red Barons won the battle of the boards and outscored Broome in the paint.  Quartus Steika led the Hornets from beyond the arc with four 3s, and finished with a total of 21 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.  Reginald Vaughan added three 3s for 10 points, and Patrick Buchinsky turned in a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.  Zakariyya Williams also hit double figures with 11 points, including two 3's of his own.

The Hornets conclude their season next Tuesday, when they face MSAC opponent Jefferson CC at 8:00 P.M. in the Baldwin Gymnasium.
