The Hornets fell to the defending USCAA Division II National Champions, Penn State Wilkes-Barre, by a score of 83-63 on Wednesday night in Lehman, PA. Broome competed with the four year school for most of the contest, going into the half down by just five points, 37-32. The depth of Penn State wore down the Hornets throughout the second half, using all fourteen players, and all but one made a presence in the scoring column.
The scoring effort for Broome was led by freshman guard Christian Sage, who scored 18 points on 6-9 shooting from the field, and 5-5 from the line. Next, in double figures as well, was Tron Smith with 14, Charles Jackson turned in a double-double effort with 10 points and 11 boards and Ke'Juan Wright added 7 and 7 respectively.
Broome plays their first games at home this weekend, facing North Country CC on Saturday at 3pm, and Clinton CC on Sunday at 2pm.
