Men Suffer First Region III Losses Over The Weekend

The men's basketball team suffered their first Region III losses over the weekend, falling to Herkimer College on Saturday, 116-61, and Fulton-Montgomery CC on Sunday, 92-70.  On Saturday in Herkimer, the Generals jumped out to an 18-3 lead and never looked back. They led by 18 points at halftime and outscored the Hornets 64-27 in the second half.  Tron Smith led the Hornets in scoring with 17 points to go with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.  Christian Sage contributed 16 points and assists, Zachary Porter joined them in double figures, scoring 12 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

On Sunday in the Baldwin Gymnasium, the Hornets dropped their second straight Region III game in two days.  The Raiders handed Broome their first loss at home this season.  Sage scored 21 points and added 6 rebounds on the day, Smith put in 10 points to go with 7 rebounds, and Shane Callaway grabbed 10 boards, blocked 3 shots and chipped in with 5 points.
 
The Hornets are back in action after the Thanksgiving break next Wednesday in Utica for an 8:00 P.M. contest against Mohawk Valley CC.
