Hockey Team Falls In Buffalo

The ice hockey team lost a Region III contest 4-1 to Erie CC in Buffalo on Saturday afternoon. MJ Maerkl scored the only goal for the Hornets courtesy of a Drew Peterson and Mike Sniffen assist in the second period. The Kats jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and added another in the third. Joakim Axen was kept busy in goal with 38 saves for Broome.

Broome, ranked fifth in the NJCAA, falls to 10-11 while Erie, the fourth ranked team in the NJCAA, improved to 11-7. The Hornets playoff picture remains uncertain at this time as they wait on several other games yet to be played.
