The SUNY Broome Hornets Ice Hockey team opened up their season on the road Saturday against County College of Morris with a 7-2 victory.   Freshman Mike Ferranti (Port Crane, NY), and Cory Della Stua (Pittsford, NY) starred in their first game as a Hornet scoring three points each.  Ferranti scored the game winning goal, and finished the game with one goal and two assists; While Della Stua had two goals and one assist.  Other Hornet offense was provided by Chris Alston (Canton, NY) who scored two goals, Mat Culcasi (Chesapeake, VA) had one goal one assist, and Brian Cole (Binghamton, NY) also scored a goal.  Dylan Snyder (Arlee, MT) stopped 28 of the 30 shots that he faced and also assisted on a goal.  The Hornets play Hudson Valley on Wednesday.
