The ice hockey team fell to Hudson Valley CC 8-3 Wednesday evening in their home opener. Chris Alston (Canton/Pittsburgh, PA), Matt Culcasi (Pennfoster/Chesapeake, VA) and Wayne Buerkle (McGraw/ Cortland, NY) each scored for SUNY Broome (1-1). Dylan Snyder (Arlee/Arlee, MT) and Dustin Stevens (Kasson-Mantorville/Kasson, MN) combined for 37 saves in net. The Vikings (1-0-1) were led by James Murphy's 3 goals.

The Hornets will faceoff next Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. with the Elmira College JV team at the SUNY Broome Ice Center.
