Hockey Team Falls To National Champions

The ice hockey team traveled to Buffalo on Saturday to face off against the defending national champion Erie Kats and came up on the short end 7-4. The score ended up tied at 3-3 after the 1st period in the hard fought contest. Broome's offense came from their top line of Austin Bradish (West Chazy, NY/Beekmantown), Austin Campbell (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) and Geno DeAngelo (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley). Campbell scored 1 goal and had 2 assists, DeAngelo had 2 goals and Bradish had 2 assists. Kyle Waronker (Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparall) also recorded 2 assists. The Kats took the lead in the 2nd period when the Hornets gave up two goals. Broome struck back in the 3rd period cutting Erie's lead to one on a goal by Josh Maus (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) assisted by Devin Laird (Farmersville, NY/Pioneer) and Cameron Dunn (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton). Erie managed to hold off the Hornet attack scoring twice in the 3rd, including an empty net goal to seal the victory. Patrick Massey (Chicago, IL/Penfield) made six saves in the first period for Broome and Owen Miller (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) came in to relieve Massey and stopped 29 of the 32 shots he faced. 

Broome hosts the Binghamton University Club Team on Thursday Night at 7:00 P.M. in the Annual Showdown for the President's Cup.
