Hockey Wins In OT

The Hornets traveled to Utica to take on Region III rival Mohawk Valley CC on Wednesday and came home with a 5-4 OT win. After a scoreless 1st period SUNY Broome scored four goals in the second to take a 4-0 lead. Ryan Norris (Rochester, NY/Hilton) started the scoring with an unassisted breakaway goal.  Josh Maus (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) would strike next on a pass from Cameron Dunn (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton).  Geno DeAngelo (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) scored the third goal with assists going to Austin Campbell (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) and Austin Bradish (West Chazy, NY/Beekmantown). Campbell scored the fourth Hornet goal with assists going to Bradish and DeAngelo.  The Hawks clawed their way back in the 3rd period scoring four unanswered goals forcing the overtime. DeAngelo found the back of the net with 32 seconds left in the overtime period for the game winner with assists going to Bradish and Campbell.  Owen Miller (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) earned the win for the Hornets making 54 saves. 

Broome improved their record to 3-2 and will face-off against Hudson Valley CC in Troy this Saturday at 1:00 P.M.
