SUNY Broome dropped their first meeting of the season with Mohawk Valley CC 12-5 on Wednesday night at the Ice Center. Eleven different skaters found the net for Mohawk Valley (3-5-0), with Hunter Pate leading the way with two goals. Richie Bittles (Newburgh, NY) led the Broome (0-8-1) offense with three goals and an assist, while Jeffrey Halstrom (Willet, NY) and Ryan Norris (Rochester, NY) chipped in with a goal a piece. Ryan Pretino (Penfield, NY) also had three assists in the loss.

Christopher McVannan (Binghamton, NY) took the loss for the Hornets, allowing eight goals on 47 shots before giving way to Austen Strauss for the final 24 minutes. Mike Cucharile got the win for the Hawks, stopping 9 of 13 shots in two periods of work. Joe Bonanza allowed the other Broome goal while turning aside 11 in the third.
