Late Rally Falls Short
The men's lacrosse team fell short last night night at Binghamton's Alumni Stadium as SUNY Broome fell to SUNY Delhi 16-11 in a Region III lacrosse game. Costly penalties and turnovers committed by the Hornets in the second quarter allowed the Broncos to open up an 8 to 3 halftime lead that they would not relinquish. After a 1-1 first quarter the Hornets committed 5 penalties in the second quarter which allowed the Broncos 4 man-up goals. Broome scored 5 goals in the fourth quarter to pull within 2 goals with 8:37 left with but could get no closer. Michael Ferranti (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) finished the game with 2 goals and 2 assists, Austin Standish-Warpus (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) finished with a team high 3 goals, Harrison Gardiner (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) won 14 of 23 face offs and Goalie Nicholas Figuerado (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) made 13 saves for the Hornets. Defenseman Salen Turkovic (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) scored his first goal of the season.

The Hornets record moves to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in Region III. The Hornets host Hudson Valley CC on  April 3rd at 4:00 p.m.
