SUNY Broome outlasted Herkimer College in a closely contested lacrosse game in Herkimer on Wednesday, and came home with the 8-7 victory. The Generals got on the board early to take a 1-0 lead, their only lead of the game. Johnny Cotton III (Brooklyn, NY/Eagle Academy) equalized the score five minutes later with his first goal of the season. Zachary Spear (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) gave the visitors the lead, one they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.
Captain, Joshua Bradford (Johnsocn City, NY/Johnson City) paced the Hornets with 4 goals and Christopher Bittles (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) had 2 goals and an assist. Alex Sprague-Getsy (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) chipped in with 2 assists and Jordan Bideaux (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) had 1. LJ Redpath led the host team with 4 goals.
Zachary House (Owego, NY/Owego) stopped 11 of Herkimer's 18 shots on goal while counterpart, Charles Rosaschi stopped 12 of the Hornets' 20 attempts.
Broome heads to Ocean County CC in New Jersey this Saturday for a 1:30 P.M. lacrosse game.
