Lacrosse Falls Short In Toms River

The lacrosse team fell to nationally ranked Ocean County CC on Saturday 18-6 in Toms River, NJ. The Vikings, ranked 8th in the latest NJCAA Poll, held a slim lead after three quarters of play, besting the Hornets 8-6. The fourth quarter was all Vikings (5-2) though, the host team scored 10 unanswered goals en route to their win. 

Alex Sprague-Getsy (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City)  and Johnny Cotton III (Brooklyn, NY/Eagle Academy) netted 2 goals apiece for the Hornets (2-4), Sprague-Getsy also had 2 assists. Jordan Bideaux (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) and Matthew Slezak (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) chipped in with 1 goal each. Zachary House (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) and John Morton (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) split keeper duties, recording 11 saves on 21 shots, and 2 saves on 10 shots respectively.

The Hornets play Sunday at Binghamton Alumni Stadium against Finger Lakes CC with a 1:00 P.M. face-off.
