NJCAA's 3rd Ranked Team Too Much For Hornets

The men's lacrosse team fell to Genesee CC 24-4 Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field in a Region III match.  The Hornets (1-6) kept it close in the first quarter before the Cougars (6-2), currently ranked in the third spot in the latest NJCAA poll, found some separation in the second and took a 12-2 lead into halftime. Genesee closed all doors in the third period, outscoring Broome 9-0.

Justin Goodspeed (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks), Tanner Gell (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) Nicholas Pert (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) and Devin Weldon (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) scored a goal apiece for Broome.  Ryan Madden (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) stopped 27 shots in net for the home team.
 
Broome heads into a 3-game season finale next week beginning with a trip to Troy to take on Hudson Valley CC this Monday, face-off scheduled for 4:00 P.M.
