Men's Soccer Team Rebounds With Road Win

The men's soccer team bounced back from from a tough loss earlier in the week with a 6-0 road win against Fulton-Montgomery CC on Saturday in Johnstown. The Hornets first goal of the contest came in the 10th minute when Nathan Mansfield (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay-East Fishkill) received a pass from Joshua Wlostowski (Vestal, NY/Vestal) on the ground, who tucked the ball into the back of the net. The Hornets struck again in the 20th minute when Isiah Illsley (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) took a pass out of the air from Nathan Beach (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) then  proceeded to rip the ball past the keeper for the 2-0 lead. The Hornets got a 3rd goal in the
42nd minute when Mansfield headed home a cross from Kyle Dann (Marathon, NY/Marathon Central). The Hornets scored their fourth goal in the 66th minute when Guido McKenzie (Brooklyn, NY/Clara Barton) scored off a pass from Wlostowski. McKenzie scored again in the 73rd minute when Saleh Yacoub (Republic of Sudan/Mous-Eldaw) passed him the ball for the 5-0 lead. The last goal of the day would come in the 83rd minute when Anthony Faragasso (Montrose, PA/Seton Catholic) tucked home a pass from Alex Brownell (Franklin, NY/Franklin) for the final 6-0 score. 

Tyler Elliott (Vestal, NY/Vestal) and Tyler Hinds (Vestal, NY/Vestal) each had 2 saves in the contest while the Raiders keeper, Riley Yager had 13 stops. Broome had the advantage in shots (25-2) and corners (9-4).

Broome (5-3;1-2) will host Jefferson CC this Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. on Alumni Field.
