Men's Soccer Team Falls On Road

The men's soccer team fell 2-1 in Syracuse to Onondaga CC Wednesday night in a MSAC contest. Broome struck first in the closing minutes of the first half as Joshua Wlostowski (Vestal, NY/Vestal) tucked home a ball from Nathan Mansfield (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay-East Fishkill), who had thrown the ball into the middle of the box. The Lazers struck back in the 70th minute as Maccin Spragling scored off a penalty kick. Another goal was added in the 75th minute when Spragling took a long, deep shot that floated into the back of the net for the 2-1 lead. Onondaga edged Broome 11-10 in shots on goal while the host team held a 6-1 advantage in corners. Tyler Elliott (Vestal, NY/Vestal) had 7 saves as did Lazer keeper Chris Spaulding.

The Hornets looks to get back on track this Saturday in a Region III matchup in Herkimer against the Generals with a scheduled start time of 3:00 P.M.
