The men's soccer team took on Clinton CC at Alumni Field on Sunday in their 13th game of the season and came out on the top end with a 3-0 victory. The Hornets opened up the scoring early in the first minute of the game when Nathan Mansfield (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay-East Fishkill) picked up a bad clearance by the Cougars and proceeded to lob the ball into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Shortly thereafter, Mansfield struck again of a Joshua Wlostowski (Vestal, NY/Vestal) free kick when he turned and fired the ball into the Cougars net for the 2-0 halftime lead. Wlostowski would make it 3-0 for the host team in the second half when he headed home a long throw from Mansfield to secure up the score line. Tyler Elliott (Vestal, NY/Vestal) and Tyler Hinds (Vestal, NY/Vestal) had 2 saves apiece in the winning effort while Joshua Rabideau had 17 stops for the Cougars.
