Men's Soccer Knocks Off Another Top Ten Team

Broome defeated the NJCAA's Division III 7th ranked Hudson Valley CC 1-0 Wednesday afternoon at home in their 14th game of the season. The Hornets defeated 8th ranked SUNY Adirondack last week 4-3 in a second half comeback. The game was a tough fought contest as the Hornets had a goal disallowed early in the first as well as a goal cleared off the line and went into the half tied at 0-0. In the second half of the contest Joshua Wlostowski (Vestal, NY/Vestal) broke the deadlock in the 74th minute when he headed home a high lofted ball sent in from Kyle Dann (Marathon, NY/Marathon Central) for the Hornets 1-0 victory. Broome outshot the visiting Vikings 15-3 but were edged out 3-2 in corner kicks.

The Hornets (9-5;2-3 MSAC) take on Erie CC on Saturday scheduled to start at 3:00 P.M. at Alumni Field.
