Men's Soccer Wins Fourth In A Row
The men's soccer team defeated Erie CC 2-1 on a chilly Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field in Binghamton. The Hornets scored early into the contest as Nathan Mansfield (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay-East Fishkill) ran with the ball into the box and finished for the 1-0 lead 4 minutes in. Broome added a second goal in the 13th minute when Mansfield received a ball over the top from Brian Clark (Vestal NY/Vestal), who then took the ball and rifled home a shot for the 2-0 lead going into halftime. Erie's Adbulqawl Muhammed made it a one goal game late on when a penalty kick that was awarded with 5 minutes left. Tyler Elliott (Vestal, NY/Vestal) had 3 saves and Tyler Hinds (Vestal, NY/Vestal) had 2 saves for the hosts. The Hornets outshot the Kats 12-4 but fell on the short side in corners 7-3.
 
The Hornets (10-5;2-3 MSAC) will host Tompkins Cortland CC on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in their final game of the regular season.
