SUNY Broome took on Niagara County CC in Sanborn, NY Saturday afternoon and came home with a 4-1 victory. The Hornets scored first with a goal by Mark Lee off a crossed pass from Christian Rosics 10 minutes into the contest. The Thunderwolves responded with a goal in the 24th minute from Austin Sauer to tie it at one-all. Broome added, what proved to be the winning goal in the 33rd minute from Harris Brkovic as he took a long pass from Luke Day and poked it past the keeper for a 2-1 lead. Joe Padden struck a free kick into the bottom corner of the net 56 minutes in to give the Hornets a 3-1 lead. The final goal was scored by Damian Rutan on a break away pass from Harris Brkovic in the 64th minute and the final 4-1 score over Niagara (2-2). Tyler Elliott had 5 saves in net as Broome moves to 4-0 on the year.
SUNY Broome takes on Mohawk Valley CC this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Utica, NY in a Region III soccer match.
