Broome Earns Fifth Shutout Of Season

The men's soccer team earned their fifth shutout of the season, this one a 3-0 win at home against Fulton-Montgomery CC on Saturday afternoon.  The match started as a close contest with neither team scoring in the first half. SUNY Broome opened up the scoring in the 53rd minute when Mark Lee took a long pass from Luke Day and slotted the ball into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. The Hornets scored again in the 58th minute off a penalty kick, which was converted by Lee for the 2-0 lead. The third goal came in the 63rd minute when Lisberto Calvo took a pass from Samuel Hill and put it in the net. Tyler Elliott had five stops in goal for the Hornets and earned his eighth win and fifth shutout to remain unbeaten in net. Fulton Montgomery CC dropped to 1-5 and SUNY improved to 8-0 on the season.
