Soccer Bounces Back With A Big Win

The soccer team bounced back from their first loss of the season against Herkimer last Saturday with a 5-3, come from behind win over Onondaga CC at Alumni Field this afternoon. The Lazers (6-4) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals being scored in the 26th minute and the 33rd minute. However, Broome (10-1) would get one back in the 45th minute when Harris Brkovic received a flicked ball over the top of the defense from Lisberto Calvo to bring the match back to 2-1. SUNY Broome got the second half going with a 53rd minute as Brkovic deflected a pass into the net from a Joe Padden cross. The Hornets scored again with a goal in the 57th minute when Brkovic scored on another cross from Padden, his fourth of the game. After Onondaga added one back to make the score 4-3, Kyle Pryor added the finishing goal when he scored off a cross from Luke Day for the final 5-3 score.

SUNY Broome looks to continue their success on Monday when they travel to Jameston CC for a Region III match scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
