Men Win Thriller On The Road In OT

SUNY Broome traveled to Erie CC on Friday for a soccer match and came from behind to win it 2-1 in overtime. The Kats (11-5) opened up the scoring early and held on for a 1-0 halftime lead before the Hornets (14-1-1) came out flying in the 2nd half and were finally awarded their goal in the 59th minute. Joshua Jefferies slotted home the equalizer on a pass from Harris Brkovic. Regulation ended 1-1 despite Broome outshooting Erie 26-10. In the 1st overtime Jefferies and Brkovic switched rolls as Brkovic slotted home the game winner with 1:28 left in the first OT on a feed from Jefferies.

Broome travels to Dryden on Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. MSAC match against Tompkins Cortland CC and will closeout the regular season with a 3:00 p.m. match on the road next Saturday against Genesee CC in Batavia, NY.
