After falling to Cayuga last Wednesday, the men's soccer team rebounded with a 4-1 victory over Fulton Montgomery CC on Saturday in Johnstown. The Hornets victory moved them to 7-1-0 on the season.
Ismar Turkovic (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) opened the scoring just 1:48 into the game on a header from Matthew Furminger (Vestal, NY/Vestal). Sixteen minutes later Damian Rutan (Cincinnatus, NY/Cincinnatus) was taken down in the box and awarded a penalty kick where he stepped up and blasted it into the corner to take a 2-0 lead. Virgil Isenia (Willemstad, Curacao/St Jozef VSBO) made is 3-0 in the 30th minute off a feed from Rutan. Charlie Desforges (Kent, UK?Swadelands) completed the scoring for the Hornets in the first half off a pass from Turkovic.
Gustavo Cichorski-Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Nossa Senhora do Morumbi) made 6 saves for the Hornets in his first start of the season.
Broome is back in action this Wednesday at home at 2:00 P.M. when they take on Jefferson CC In a MSAC contest.
