Soccer Edged Out By Region III Powerhouse

The men's soccer team lost a hard fought game to Herkimer College on Friday night by a score of 3-2 in a battle of Region III contenders.  The Generals (11-0) got on the board first before Brian Clark (Vestal, NY/Vestal) opened the scoring for Broome (8-2) to tie the game at one a piece midway through the first half, Damian Rutan (Cincinnatus, NY/Cincinnatus) with the assist.

Ismar Turkovic (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) bagged Broome's second of the game two minutes into the second half off another assist from Rutan for the visitors first lead of the game.  Herkimer tied it up half way through the second half before adding the game winning goal with two minutes left off a penalty kick.  Luke Duncan (Jersey, GB/Highlands) had 7 saves in net for Broome.

The Hornets head up to Syracuse next Wednesday for a 7:00 P.M. MSAC match against Onondaga CC.
