Soccer Cruises In Region III Win

The men's soccer team cruised past Erie CC 6-1 in a Region III matchup played on Alumni Field late Friday afternoon.  The Kats (9-4) opened up the scoring before Bennett Miller (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) tied it up in the 17th minute with an assist from Ismar Turkovic (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton).  Turkovic bagged his first of the game two minutes later and picked up his second goal of the game in the 44th minute courtesy of an assist from Minh Chau (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) to close out the half with the Hornets (9-3) up 3-1.

Turkovic scored 4 minutes into the second half to complete his hat trick.  Brian Clark (Vestal, NY/Vestal) scored off of a Charlie Desforges' (Kent, UK/Swadelands) corner kick in the 55th minute to put the hosts up 5-1.  Raynier Huggins (Willemstad, Curacao/Marnix College Cas Cora VSBO) completed the scoring, finishing a nicely placed pass from Sebastian Wells (Windsor, NY/Windsor) in the 82 minute. Luke Duncan (Jersey, GB/Highlands) earned the win in goal with 10 saves for SUNY Broome. 

Broome is back home this Sunday at 4:00 P.M. for a soccer match against Clinton CC.
