Broome won a hard fought battle on the road Wednesday afternoon in Troy against Hudson Valley CC, defeating the host team 3-2. The Vikings (8-5) opened the scoring early in the game but the Hornets (11-3) responded with a goal from Ismar Turkovic (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) in the 19th minute off an assist from Nicholas Miller (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton). Hudson Valley added another to close out the first half, up 2-1.
The second half was all Damian Rutan (Cincinnatus, NY/Cincinnatus), he netted a brace in the second half to tie it, Turkovic on the assist, then found the back of the net from a corner for the game winner. Luke Duncan (Jersey, GB/Highlands) had 4 saves in goal while teammate, Gustavo Cichorski-Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Nossa Senhora do Morumbi) had 1 save.
The Hornets are back home this Saturday for a 2:00 P.M. match against Jamestown CC.
