Men's Soccer Wins At Home

Broome overcame a resilient Jamestown CC soccer team to win 5-1 at home on Saturday in a Region III matchup.  Raynier Huggins opened the scoring for SUNY Broome in the 8th minute off a pass from Damian Rutan.  Jamestown tied it up shortly after but Ismar Turkovic put the Hornets ahead for good in the 30th minute off an assist from Minh Chau, and the 2-1 halftime lead. 
 
Virgil Isenia notched the 3rd goal for Broome in the opening minutes of the 2nd half, assisted by Chau.  Turkovic got his second goal of the contest off an assist by Charlie Desforges, and Rutan completed the scoring for the home team.  Rutan's goal came off another corner directly into the net for the second game in a row.  Luke Duncan earned the win in goal for the Hornets with 4 saves on the day.
 
Broome will closeout the regular season at home this Wednesday at 3:30 P.M. against Tompkins Cortland CC.
