Men Fall At Home

Broome player and opponent fighting for ball
vs Cayuga

The men's soccer team fell to Cayuga CC 3-1 Wednesday afternoon in a MSAC match played on Alumni Field.  The loss moved the Hornets to 4-3 overall and the Spartans improved to 2-0.

Cayuga got on the board first to take a 1-0 lead in the first half before Broome's Charlie Desforges found the back of the net in the 34th minute, courtesy of an assist from Sander Karlsen.  That would be all the scoring in the first half.  The second half saw the visitors net two unanswered goals to seal the win.  Adam Burns took the loss for Broome, giving up 3 goals and picking up one save.

Cayuga held a slight edge in shots on goal and corners, 12-11 and 8-6 respectively in the evenly played match.

Up next is a MSAC contest against Jefferson CC next Wednesday at 4:00 P.M. in Watertown.
