SUNY Broome and Niagara County headed into overtime on Saturday without either team scoring a goal before Broome found the back of the net for the 1-0 win at home. The Thunderwolves were able to weather the storm for 90 minutes, sending the Hornets home opener into overtime. Overtime lasted just over 6 minutes with captain, Jacob Wlostowski scoring his first of the season, after a great assist from Michael Repp, to give Broome the victory. Adam Burns finished in goal with 2 saves.
Broome improves to 2-1 in Region III while Niagara falls to 0-2. The Hornets will return to Alumni Field this Wednesday for a 2:00 P.M. match against the Hawks from Mohawk Valley CC.
