vs Jamestown

The men's soccer team picked up a shutout on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Jefferson CC 2-0 in a MSAC match.  The contest was tightly contested in the first half with the Hornets getting off seven shots and the Cannoneers getting off six.

Ten minutes after the restart, Broome got the breakthrough goal, courtesy of a Nazar Fedorchuk spectacular shot which flew into the top corner, assisted by Elliot Booth.  Just a couple minutes later Fedorchuk was fouled in the opposing box and the referee awarded the Hornets a penalty.  Booth confidently stepped up to take it and put it away for his second goal of the season.  Adam Burns picked up the win in goal and had nine saves on the day.  The Hornets outshot the visitors 24-10 and held the advantage in corners, 9-1.

Broome improved to 3-4 overall; 3-3 MSAC, Jefferson fell to 3-3 overall; 3-3 MSAC.  Up next is a trip to Johnstown this Sunday for a Region III match against Fulton Montgomery, scheduled for a 1:00 P.M. kickoff.
