Softball Rebounds With A Sweep

The softball team traveled to SUNY Delhi for a doubleheader against the Broncos and came back with a sweep, 9-0 in game one and 7-3 in game two.

In game one Delaney Johnson (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) kept SUNY Delhi off balance holding them to 3 hits in 5 innings.  In the first Desiree Parry (Owego, NY/Union-Endicott) led off with a single, stole second and was driven in by a Karisa Sheriff (Windsor, NY/Windsor) double.  Sheriff was then driven in by a Samantha Osorio (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) later that inning. Parry finished
the day 2-4 and Justina Ellis (Deposit, NY/Deposit) was also 2-4 with 2 RBIs.

In the second game Ellis scattered 10 hits over 7 innings striking out 4.  Amanda Finch (Conklin, NY/Susquehanna Valley) was 2-4 with two singles and 4 RBI's, Parry was 1-3 with 2 RBIs and Mindy Fisher (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) was 2-3 with two doubles. Parry's defensive play at shortstop got the Hornets out of some tough situations and on the offensive end Finch finished the day 4-7 with 4 RBI's.

The Hornets return home this Thursday for their long awaited home opener against TC3 at the BAGSAI Softball Complex starting at 3:30 p.m.
