Two Broome players at sliding into home plate under tag
@ TC3

The softball team took both games of their doubleheader against Tompkins Cortland Friday afternoon, taking game one 18-4, and game two 16-8.  The Panthers took the early 1-0 lead in game one before the Hornets would rally for 3 runs in the second, 4 in each the third and fourth and exploded for 7 in the fifth.  Broome was led by Mackensie Gravelin (Sidney, NY/Sidney) with 3 hits and, Kylee Warner (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) and Paige Finch (Conklin, NY/Susquehanna Valley) with 2 hits apiece.  TC3 got 3 more runs in the bottom of the fifth but it wasn't enough to overcome the Hornets' lead.  Warner picked up her third win of the season and struck out four in the game.

Game two started out much differently than the opener. The Panthers totalled 7 runs in the first before the Hornets would even things out 7-7 at the end of two.  Broome outscored the host team 9-1 the rest of the way to earn their fourth win of the season.  Broome got 3-hit games from Mikayla Garbarino (Endwell, NY/Maine Endwell), Taylor Voorhis (Windsor, NY/Windsor), Alyssa Hovey (Bainbridge, NY/ Bainbridge-Guilford) and Warner.  Warner allowed just one run over the final 5 innings after coming in for Alea Tiffany (Deposit, NY/Deposit) in her first pitching start.

Broome opens at home on Saturday against Hudson Valley CC at the BAGSAI Sports Complex, game one of the twinbill scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
