The Hornets swept their home opener against Hudson Valley CC on Saturday by scores of 13-3 in game one and 5-3 in game two.  Game one saw five different players with multi-hit games led by Paige Finch (Conklin, NY/Susquehanna Valley) with three hits.  Mikayla Garbarino (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell), Kylee Warner (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks), Madison Lapinski (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) and Mackensie Gravelin (Sidney, NY/Sidney) had two hits apiece.  Warner earned the win for Broome, striking out four along the way.

Game two turned out to be scoreless through the first four innings before the Hornets scored all 5 of their runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.  The Vikings threatened the host team with one in the sixth and two in the seventh but would come no closer than that.  Gravelin and Katelyn Page (Conklin, NY/Susquehanna Valley) paced Broome with 3 and 2 hits respectively.  Warner earned another win on the mound for the Hornets and improved to 6-0 on the year.
