The Hornets split their doubleheader with Corning CC on Friday, winning game one in dramatic fashion 9-1, and falling short in game two 11-10.  The Red Barons, ranked 9th in the NJCAA's April 10th poll, seemed to have the game in control behind the pitching of Skylar Rechner and the home run in the fourth inning by Michele DiNicola.  Broome trailed 1-0 going into the top of the seventh inning before their bats exploded for 9 unanswered runs. Doubles by Mikayla Garbarino, Madison Lapinski and Kylee Warner led the charge for the Hornets.  Lapinski was responsible for three of those runs and, Garbarino and Warner contributed with 2 RBIs apiece for the dramatic comeback win.

Broome fell short in game two 11-10. Going into the top of the seventh all tied up at 7-7, the Red Barons scored 4 runs for the 11-7 lead.  The Hornets put up 3 more runs but fell just short for their first loss of the year.  Mackensie Gravelin led Broome at the plate going 4-5, two of those being doubles.  Warner followed with 3 hits and, Ashley Sisson and Garbarino had 2 hits each.
