The softball team split with Columbia-Greene CC on Tuesday, winning game one 8-2, and falling in game two 17-9.  Game one saw five different Broome hitters have multi-hit games.  Mikayla Garbarino, Kylee Warner, Alea Tiffany, Mackensie Gravelin and Alyssa Hovey all had two hits each led by Gravelin and Tiffany, hitting a double and triple, and two doubles respectively.  The Twins got on the board first in the top of the second inning but the lead was short lived as the Hornets tallied three runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good.

Game two slipped away from Broome (8-4) in the bottom of the sixth as Columbia-Greene (6-6) took advantage of some costly errors.  The game was tied at the end of one 2-2, at the end of three 6-6, and at the end of five 9-9 before the twins rallied for 8 runs in the bottom of the sixth.  Broome was led by Paige Finch, Madison Lapinski and Garbarino with three hits apiece is the losing effort.

The Hornets return to the BAGSAI Softball Complex on Thursday for a doubleheader against SUNY Adirondack with the first pitch scheduled to be thrown at 3:00 P.M.
